Metro At Large Across Scotland For “The Great Yes, No, Don’t Know Five Minute Theatre Show”, on the topical subject of independence - streaming tonight from 5pm.
Monday June 23rd, 2014.
Tonight, Metro Ecosse’s film crew will be at large across Scotland to film over 200 micro-theatre shows performed by the public on the theme of Independence. The National Theatre of Scotland’s 24 hour live-streamed event includes pre-recorded and live pieces performed at various locations across Scotland, the UK, the world and the web. Our crew will be stationed at seven locations (theatre hubs) across Scotland and also in mobile film units to capture performances filmed on beaches, cafes, piers, bridges, fields and tram stops.
Each five minute show will provide a whole range of public insights to one very important issue; the event is a democratic, dramatic response to the theme of ‘Independence’.
Jo Walsh, National Theatre of Scotland’s Project Manager said, “It is a show created by anyone, for an audience of everyone. Metro Ecosse’s role will be to ensure we capture the live performances as best we can under the circumstances. The challenge will be to maintain a consistent quality of production and manage local and unpredictable technical issues which might arise.”
The full 24 hour live event can be seen at www.fiveminutetheatre.com
