Metro Broadcast Helps AIRMIC Deliver 2018 Three Day Event at Liverpool’s ACC

Metro Broadcast Helps AIRMIC Deliver 2018 Three Day Event at Liverpool’s ACCThe 2018 AIRMIC conference and exhibition at Liverpool’s ACC attracted no less than 1,800 business risk and insurance experts from across the UK.   The annual three day event includes a panel debate chaired by Huw Edwards, lead presenter for BBC News.  With a creative concept already in mind, AIRMIC asked Metro Broadcast to bring it to life on the main auditorium stage, at the registration area and in the creation of a unique conference video sting.
The creatives for the 2018 conference’s The Future is Now theme were inspired by the classic Back to the Future movie.  Starting with the registration area, Metro made a customised desk in a very open and welcoming style.  Metro’s design team used the main graphic to create a backdrop which served as a teaser for the main set, still to be revealed.

On entering the auditorium, delegates were impressed with the floor-to-ceiling, tri-panel set.  For maximum impact, the central panel included a large 40ft wide projection screen.  Using blending techniques, Metro created a ‘picture within picture’ presentation and the large stage area at the ACC made rear projection possible. The creatives were printed to fabric which was then stretched across flats to frame the set on either side.

Reflecting the theme, Metro’s bespoke opening video sting featured a DeLorean car across the Liverpool skyline which incorporated the City’s most iconic buildings.  Metro’s audio visual technicians worked closely with the ACC team which provided lighting and sound.

New to the annual event in 2018, AIRMIC introduced The Airmic Hub – a Thought Leadership Theatre. The Airmic Hub was the go-to resource for learning and building connections.  The Hub, created by Metro within the main exhibition area, allowed exhibitors to deliver short presentations.Metro Broadcast Helps AIRMIC Deliver 2018 Three Day Event at Liverpool’s ACCTo avoid disruption to neighbouring exhibitors and to enhance the audience experience for guests attending Hub sessions, Metro used ‘silent disco’ technology; 30 wireless headphones were provided for use during the ‘silent’ presentations.Metro Broadcast Helps AIRMIC Deliver 2018 Three Day Event at Liverpool’s ACCAIRMIC’s Susi Ozkurt says, “This year, we focused on creating impact in the auditorium with a massive stage and also enhancing the exhibition with the creation of a dedicated speaker hub. The design of the registration area, the hub and the opening video sting needed to echo the main stage and tie the theme together.  The range of production skills at Metro meant that we had complete consistency across these design elements and a very creative outcome.”
